Software Engineer by day, product enthusiast by heart, and team lead by choice.
I build things with code, shape products with passion, and lead teams with empathy. When I'm not debugging or designing, you'll find me exploring the intersection of technology and human experience.
I'm a backend engineer who loves building scalable systems and solving complex problems. My journey started in Biomedical Engineering at Carleton University, but I found my true calling in software, where I can turn ideas into products that matter.
I thrive in the backend, crafting APIs that power experiences, designing databases that scale, and building systems that just work. I've also had the opportunity to work on the product side, translating business needs into technical solutions, prioritizing what matters, and helping teams ship products that users actually want.
Whether I'm writing Ruby on Rails, architecting with Python, or diving into SQL queries, I bring both technical depth and product thinking to every project. I'm always open to chatting about backend engineering, product development, or anything in between.
I grew up right here in Toronto with my sister and my very busy parents. My mom had newly immigrated to Canada, and my dad was a very true Canadian, almost every sentence started with "back in my day..." and usually involved something to do with him walking through "meters" of snow. I loved skiing, school, seeing friends, and of course, the care-free life of being a kid.
This is when I started thinking about what I actually wanted to do with my life. I picked up a volunteer position at a long-term care facility and realized I really liked helping people. Naturally, I thought medicine was the only logical option... crazy, right? (Hats off to all the physicians out there.) After some guidance from my school counselor, I ended up merging my passion for physics, my (secret) love for coding, biology, and math, and put it all into biomedical engineering.
I graduated from Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at Carleton University. It was a great program, but I still wasn't 100% sure what I wanted to do. One summer, I got the opportunity to work as a Software Engineering student, and it was so great I ended up going back for another internship.
I now work in the world of Software Engineering. Funny enough, my passion for writing code started pretty young in high school, but I always used to think "I don't want to be sitting writing code in my parents' basement"... well, here I am, sitting writing code in my parents' basement. Life's funny like that.
The code to showcase the website you are looking at right now! I have written everything in plain old HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript. This website is actually hosted publicly on GitHub Pages.
A solar-powered watch with extended battery life that connects to a mobile application in order to track the location of a wandering person with dementia. This project was a collaboration with Carleton University and has now been spun out into a startup called Lanternn Innovations.
A mobile application that allows patients to access their medical records and schedule appointments with their doctors. Made in Swift and SwiftUI.
